MANUAL reception

1 When your fax rings, pick up the

handset.

2 You will either hear a fax tone or the

other party will speak to you.

•• If you hear a fax tone, press the

START key.

•• If the other party first speaks with you

and then wants to send a document,

press the START key after speaking.

3 Hang up when RECEIVING appears in

the display.

Note:

As a back-up feature of MANUAL mode, you can set the fax to automatically answer

calls and receive documents on any number of rings from 1 to 9. This is useful if you

are occasionally unable to respond to an incoming call personally. The setting is made

with Option Setting 3. See Chapter 5, "Optional Settings".
